Dateline Sunday May 24, 2020: Today Mars and Ceres — the largest asteroid in our solar system and designated by professional astronomers around the world now as a so-called “dwarf planet” along with Pluto — just made a conjunction at 8 degrees of Pisces. Mars unions with any of the four main asteroids occur approximately every 2+ years — which is how long the red planet takes to orbit the Sun. Anytime Mars unites with a celestial body there is a noticeable ratcheting up of intensity, volatility and inflammatory behavior — particularly in sync with the qualities of the planetary body that Mars is triggering or igniting. However, the purpose of this short feature is to remind you that the first four asteroids discovered between 1801 and 1807 — which are crucial in understanding your own birth chart, those of your dear ones, as well as the horoscopes of states of the union, businesses, organizations, world leaders and nations around the globe — have orbital cycles that usually happen for approximately 4 years. Therefore, I have been focusing enormous attention on the transits and secondary progressions of Ceres, Pallas Athena, Juno and Vesta in my Astro Flash columns and Global Hot Spot features, plus now 50 podcasts in my Mark Lerner Astrology Radio AstroScope area — with these appearing on our website at www.greatbearenterprises.com Just a few minutes ago, I decided to use one of my main astrology software programs to determine when the 4 main asteroids made their returns to the natal chart for the USA (our birth as a nation on July 4, 1776) during 2015 - 2016 as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump won their party’s nominations and battled each other for the presidency. The goal of this exercise was to see how similar or dissimilar those returns were compared to what’s happening with the same 4 main asteroids in 2020 - 2021 as Joe Biden and Donald Trump are preparing to face off during what will even be more contentious than the previous presidential contest due to the pandemic and the current pervasive upheaval in international affairs. What is intriguing are the results of this comparison. In the 2015 - 2016 time-period, the USA experienced single returns by Ceres in Pisces, Juno in Libra and Vesta in Taurus (all significant because these asteroids don’t always make returns during a presidential election), but Pallas Athena made three returns in Aquarius. And Pallas Athena — as I have shared in so many podcasts and my writings for years — is exactly united with the Moon when America was born at its Declaration of Independence 244 years ago this July. Meanwhile, in 2020 - 2021, a kind of mirror reflection of importance is occurring as Ceres returns to its Pisces placement for the USA on May 28, August 14 and December 20, Vesta returned to its USA placement in Taurus in August and November last year and again in February 2020, and Juno has just made two returns to its USA placement in Libra in January and February and makes a third return on August 19. However, Pallas — which made three USA returns in Aquarius 4 years ago — only comes back once this time around on February 25, 2021. The extra importance to all these returns is that in August this year, our country experiences the 100th anniversary of the right for women to vote and both Ceres in Pisces and Juno in Libra are returning in August just 5 days apart — as both the Democratic and Republican conventions are about to happen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Charlotte*, North Carolina, respectively. *President Trump, as of Memorial Day Monday May 25, is threatening the Governor of North Carolina Roy Cooper – who is a Democrat – that unless he guarantees that the convention center can be filled to capacity President Trump will seek a different city, in another state, to have the Republican convention. In an unusual example of synchronicity, Roy Cooper is, like the president, a Sun-sign Gemini born on June 13, 1957 – almost exactly11 years after Donald Trump’s birth on June 14, 1946. In addition, many articles are appearing about the new plight of women during this health crisis due to children being out of school, women losing many more jobs than men are losing, and the disappearance for so many women of their incomes, health insurance, the ability to feed their families and keep everyone in their family circles safe and secure.
