On Sunday Morning June 28, 1914 in the town of Sarajevo, Gavrilo Princip – a 19-year-old Bosnian Serb student and member of a radical group called the Black Hand – assassinated the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austrian-Hungarian throne, and created an upheaval in Europe that led to the start of what eventually became known as World War 1 a month later.

The New Moon on June 28 – with the Sun and Moon at 8 degrees of Cancer – is exceedingly potent and not necessarily in an easy flowing way since the solar and lunar orbs are in an extremely close square aspect of 90-degrees to King of the Gods Jupiter at 8 degrees of Aries and within a 1+ degree opposition aspect to the recently-discovered far-away planet Quaoar at 7 degrees of Capricorn.

Quaoar is named after the Creator Deity of the Tongva American tribe in the Los Angeles area and was discovered on June 4, 2002 while located at 11 degrees of Sagittarius. Quaoar has an orbit of 289 years and was exactly conjunct both the Moon and Pallas Athena at 27 degrees of Aquarius when the U.S was born at The Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

In addition, this New Moon carries extra significance as Neptune is stationary at 26 degrees of Pisces and beginning a 5+ month retrograde cycle, plus Venus in Gemini squares Vesta in Pisces while also making a supportive, 60-degree alliance with Jupiter in Aries. This is a time-period of great opportunities for advancement on many levels of consciousness while caution is still crucial as sky configurations are inspiring while also challenging.

While the dark-of-the-moon-phase remains in effect until the New Moon occurs at 8 degrees of Cancer (7:53pm), the universe is in a supreme shenanigans mode of behavior. Neptune halting its forward motion at 26 degrees of Pisces (12:56am) to go into reverse is making an enormous impact on our home base in the solar system. Focus attention on the following themes related to the Ancient God of the Seas – the creative imagination, psychic sensitivity, dreams and visions, idealism, universal love and wisdom, spiritual studies, mysticism, religious beliefs, ethereal types of art and design, bodies of water and liquids of all kinds, sea-life and shipping, global rates and fluctuations in currency and finances, confusion and chaos, fantasies and illusions, being hooked and addicted to alcohol, drugs and anything pernicious and nebulous. While Neptune is so potent for this entire 24-hour time-span, it is plain old common sense to steer clear of making long-term commitments or signing legal documents. (Neptune will remain retrograde until December 3 when it will station again to go direct at 23 degrees of Pisces.) In the meantime, last night’s void lunar dispensation in Gemini ends as the Moon finds solace in its familiar territory of watery Cancer (4:55am). However, celestial gremlins are attempting to put obstacles in your path as Venus in Gemini squares Vesta in Pisces (5:34am), Mars parallels Chiron (4:24pm) and the Sun in Cancer makes one of two, annual squares to King of the Gods Jupiter in Aries (6:01pm). While tests of faith and stamina are pervasive, rays of hope are present as Venus moves away from its adversarial aspect with Vesta to form a supportive, 60-degree rapport with Jupiter (8:53pm) and then contacts motionless Neptune via a psychically energizing, 72-degree alignment (11:24pm). This is one of the more complex and challenging days of 2022, but there’s no reason you can’t utilize your increasing knowledge and wisdom of astrology to conquer old fears and begin several weeks of happy-go-lucky adventures. Wednesday June 29 It’s important to remember that most of Tuesday’s assortment of solar, lunar and planetary rigmarole is still present — at least in subliminal realms of awareness. Therefore, the Neptune station is still exceedingly active as are the Cancer New Moon vibrations, Sun-Jupiter square intensity, Venus-Vesta face-off, Mars-Chiron parallel and Venus-Jupiter and Venus-Neptune alliances. Clearly, this is a stellar hodgepodge of strange gyrations that will impact every earthling differently. On this day afterwards, except for Mercury in Gemini making a tense square to peace-and-harmony strong Juno in Pisces (3:26am), the cosmos is trying to make amends for its over-the-top behavior yesterday. Mercury is not just creating possible discord, but a little earlier forms an inspirational, 72-degree tie with Jupiter in Aries (2:53am). This can take some of the sting out of the Sun-Jupiter battle royal that had the capability of wreaking havoc on Tuesday. What’s most welcome are very nurturing-comforting waves of support emanating from Ceres in Cancer making a fairly rare and harmonious trine to Juno in Pisces (3:37pm) while the Moon and Ceres converge (8:33pm).
