Siddhartha Gautama, otherwise known as The Buddha (the “Awakened or Enlightened One”) was born in what is now considered Nepal during the 6th and 5th centuries B.C. Certain mythologies suggest he was born, experienced Enlightenment and died in the month of May. In esoteric circles, this May or Taurus-Scorpio Full Moon every year is referred to as the Buddha Festival as it said that the Buddha returns to the Earth at this time to bless the faithful and link the centers of Shamballa, the Hierarchy and Humanity – combining Will-Love-Intelligence as a Rainbow Bridge of Global Inspiration. (On a personal note, I first began studying the teachings of The Buddha via the classic novel Siddhartha by the Nobel-prize winning author Hermann Hesse who also wrote Steppenwolf, Demian and The Glass Bead Game. Having read all of these books, I began my studies in Philosophy, Metaphysics, The Tarot, Reincarnation, Numerology and Astrology.)
Dateline May 4, 2023: For those of you who are now enjoying the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar App one day at a time – but who have not yet subscribed to be able to look several weeks into the future – here are the calendar entries for the very potent Taurus-Scorpio Full Moon/Penumbral Lunar Eclipse on Friday May 5 and the day following Saturday May 6. Because every day – beyond the current 24 hours that we define as one rotation of our celestial orb on its axis – has astro-zodiacal magic, mystery and wonder is why thousands of people around the world have been tuning into the Astrological Cosmic Kalendar for the last 42 years and since it was at the heart-center of our Welcome to Planet Earth pioneering astrology newspaper/magazine during the 1980s and 1990s.
The main reasons this Full Moon — energizing 15 degrees of Taurus & Scorpio— are extra significant is due to this being considered the Festival of the Buddha and that the very powerful middle degrees of these two zodiacal signs are being activated. In addition, the transiting fate-destiny strong Mean Lunar North Node at 3+ degrees of Taurus is uniting with the discovery placement in 1977 of Shaman-Mentor, Wounded-Healer Chiron.
Plus, in the horoscope for the Full Moon as calculated for Washington, D.C. (presented at the end of this feature), be aware that there is a close and supportive, 60-degree sextile alliance between Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Aries while Mercury retrograde is in a conjunction with soul-sister Vesta in Taurus.

Future Cosmic Kalendar Entries for Friday May 5 and Saturday May 6 (All times are listed in PDT.)
Friday May 5 This year’s Cinco de Mayo is quite spectacular across the board. No matter how you are celebrating, realize that the monthly solar-lunar climax — activating 15 degrees of Taurus and Scorpio at 10:35am — is extra strong because the middle placements in the four fixed signs of the zodiac are considered especially empowered. The eminent astrologer Dane Rudhyar referred to them as the Gates of the Avatar. Plus, in esoteric circles this Full Moon is referred to as the Buddha Festival as it said that the Buddha returns to the Earth at this time to bless the faithful and link the centers of Shamballa, the Hierarchy and Humanity – combining Will-Love-Intelligence as a Rainbow Bridge of Global Inspiration. Individual and group meditations are advised. Sending affirmations, meditations and healing prayers to uplift Mother Earth will do a world of good. Adding to the illuminating qualities of this particular Full Moon — which is also a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse — is that Venus made a supportive, 60-degree sextile to Jupiter last night and the Full Moon takes place on a day when the Moon is opposite Mercury and Uranus in Taurus (12:16am and 5:15pm) and while Mercury unites with safety-security, soul-sister investment-savvy Vesta at 9 degrees of Taurus (8:43am) and then Mercury moves on to form a tense, 135-degree aspect with Ceres in Virgo (4:13pm). Your psychic sensitivity is greatly empowered as a Grand Triangle in water signs develops due to the Moon trine to Mars in Cancer (10:52pm) and then the Moon will makes the same alignment to visionary Neptune in Pisces on Saturday morning. Be ready for more planetary shenanigans tomorrow as Ceres is slowing down in its retrograde cycle to make a direct station tomorrow at 12:25pm. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
Saturday May 6 It’s been a rather momentous first five days in the fifth month of the year. As the first weekend of May begins, the Grand Triangle that began last night when the Moon in Scorpio made a trine to the red planet Mars in Cancer becomes more complete during a trine to dream-weaver and imagination-booster Neptune in Pisces (7:39am). Insights abound while this Moon-Neptune liaison begins a void lunar uncertainty cycle that lasts until the Moon enters fiery Sagittarius (1:05pm). Meanwhile, avoid making disturbing emotional waves in key relationships as Juno in Gemini forms a dicey, 45-degree tie to Chiron in Aries (8:09am) while the largest asteroid, Ceres at 24 degrees of Virgo, makes a station to shift from reverse to direct (12:25pm). Take a good look at the following archetypes associated with Ceres – productivity, Mother Nature, parent-child and mother-daughter relationships, care-giving, agriculture, gardening, dietary and nutritional matters, the harvest, and yet also scarcity, drought, and famine. (Ceres will re-enter Libra on June 21.) Realize that since this is the first of two days following the Full Moon, being a goodwill ambassador around the globe is strengthened. Plus, thanks to an inspirational, 72-degree quintile between Venus in Gemini and Chiron in Aries (11:45pm) sensible holistic healing treatments receive the good seal of cosmic approval. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
