Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley – born in London on August 30, 1797 – became famous as a young woman for writing what many consider the first science-fiction novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. The book was published anonymously in London on January 1, 1818 when she was 20 years old and then under her name 3 years later in a Paris edition. The daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin, she was the wife of the poet Percy Shelley who died in a boating accident under his Saturn Return when almost 30 years old. Mary Shelley was born with the Sun conjunct Uranus in Virgo (along with 5 other celestial bodies in Virgo including 3 of the 4 main asteroid goddess planets) and the Moon in Sagittarius. Her Vesta in late Aquarius is conjunct the USA Moon-Pallas Athena-Quaoar triple conjunction, and Vesta along with Pluto were in a union in her 10th house of career-professional stature. When looking over the New Moon chart calculated for Washington, D.C. (presented at the end of this feature), the far-distant, slow-moving planet Eris in Aries and the transiting fate-destiny strong Lunar Nodes are almost exactly on the Ascendant and Descendant. Planet Eris was named after the sister of Mars in mythology and Eris is considered to have powerful themes associated with strife and discord as she was the catalyst who ushered in the Trojan War. Eris was discovered on January 5, 2005, has one moon, and Eris was very prominent at the Presidential Inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, 2017, and Eris takes 559 years to orbit the Sun.
