Dateline August 25, 2022: For those of you who are now enjoying the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar one day at a time – but who have not yet subscribed to be able to look several weeks into the future – here are the calendar entries for the powerful Virgo New Moon on Saturday August 27 and the day after Sunday August 28. Because every day – beyond the current 24 hours that we define as one rotation of our celestial orb on its axis – has astro-zodiacal magic, mystery and wonder is why thousands of people around the world have been tuning into the Astrological Cosmic Kalendar for the last 40 years and since it was at the heart-center of our Welcome to Planet Earth pioneering astrology newspaper/magazine during the 1980s and 1990s.
The main reason this month’s New Moon — energizing 5 degrees of Virgo— is extra significant is because less than 4 hours earlier Venus in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus and Sun in Virgo squares Mars in Gemini. Therefore, these two intense, 90-degree aspects involving the Sun, Venus, Mars and Uranus can set off a wide variety of celestial fireworks for everyone around the world. In addition the far-away planet Varuna at 7 degrees of Leo is exactly rising in the horoscope calculated for Washington, D.C. and Varuna had just been exactly united with the solar and lunar orbs at the last Leo New Moon on July 28. It is helpful that giant Jupiter in Aries is making a harmonious trine alignment to Varuna and the Rising Degree from an elevated placement in the Virgo New Moon horoscope calculated for the U.S, capital.
Varuna – named after a creator god of India – was discovered on November 28, 2000 when located at 11 degrees of Cancer. According to the Tibetan Master D.K, who inspired Alice A. Bailey from 1919 to 1949 and from which over 24 books about esoteric and metaphysical ideas, principles and concepts were generated, Varuna is the name of a Raja Lord or very advanced deva and part of Varuna’s purpose to be in charge of or monitor what we know as the Astral Plane. In addition, the important asteroid Hygiea – strongly associated with health and hygiene as well as medical issues connected especially with women – is located at 16 degrees of Scorpio and is forming a nearly precise and hard-to-decipher Pythagorean Triangle or 3-4-5 sky configuration containing a square, trine and 150-degree aspect. The celestial bodies connecting with Hygiea are Ceres at 16 degrees of Leo and Chiron at 16 degrees of Aries. During the Full Moon of Cancer-Capricorn on July 13, Hygiea was rising in that chart calculated for Washington, D.C. This unusual focus on Hygiea is particularly of concern now regarding the overturning of Roe vs. Wade and the current rise in cases involving a variant of Covid-19, plus reports that the CDC is revamping its organization after two years of uncertainty as the pandemic drastically influenced our nation.

Extra Important Note: Another far-away planet in our solar system – Eris in the zodiacal sign Aries and named after the sister of Ares/Mars in ancient Greek mythology – is conjunct the Midheaven or 10th house cusp in this New Moon chart calculated for Washington, D.C. while the centaur-body Chariklo in Aquarius, considered the companion celestial orb of Chiron, is setting for Washington, D.C. and is in a potent polarity to the rising Varuna in Leo. Saturday August 27 The New Moon at 5 degrees of Virgo (1:18am) begins a new 29.5-day solar-lunar cycle. However, due to the Venus-Uranus and Sun-Mars squares that occurred during the four hours previously, this Sun-Moon interaction over the next four weeks is not exactly a cake walk. While square aspects are definitely powerful and have a frictional nature, they don’t have to be inherently negative. In fact, many 90-degree alignments produce changing circumstances that can be liberating rather than frustrating. One concept of the square aspect is that “work needs to be done” in order to accomplish something significant and rewarding. Fixing equipment, weeding your garden, shopping for values, getting back to basics, looking carefully over details, and monitoring your overall health and dietary concerns all fit into your mind-set with the emphasis on the sixth sign of the zodiac. Be extra kind to dear ones as Venus makes a contra-parallel to Saturn (5:45pm). Helping you escape the shadowy vibes that have been influencing the psychic atmosphere is an upbeat trine in fire signs between Ceres and Chiron (6:17pm). Sunday August 28 The universe continues its recent pummeling of earthlings as Venus in Leo makes its annual polarity to Saturn in Aquarius (11:29am). While this opposition is not necessarily a force that encourages an easy flow of love between partners, there can be illumination regarding key relationships. Assisting you in gaining clarity with dear ones and associates is a Grand Triangle pattern in earth signs as the Moon in Virgo trines Uranus in Taurus (5:48am) and Pluto in Capricorn (8:09pm). Since the Moon is making harmonious contact with Uranus and Neptune, a tremendous wave of insights can invigorate your thought process. Plus, the fine and graphic arts are energized due to Mercury parallel Neptune (12:57pm) and the monthly Moon-Neptune polarity (4:28pm). Be aware that the Moon-Pluto trine at 8:09pm begins a 6+ hour void cycle that lasts until the Moon enters airy Libra at 2:46am tomorrow.
